Privacy Policy
AudioMind turns a lecture or webinar you are watching into a written summary. This page explains exactly what the extension touches, what leaves your computer, and what we keep.
What the extension processes
Tab audio. When you press Start, AudioMind captures the audio of the tab you selected. Capture stops when you press Stop, and never runs on its own.
Screenshots. Only the frames you capture yourself, by pressing the button. Nothing is captured automatically, and no frame is taken while recording is off.
Files you add. In the merge window you may add your own notebooks, slides, PDFs or documents. They are read in your browser to build the summary.
What leaves your computer
To produce a transcript and a summary, the following is sent to our processing service and from there to our AI providers:
| What | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Audio, in short chunks | Groq, OpenAI | speech to text |
| Screenshots you captured | OpenAI | reading slides and code |
| Text of files you added | OpenAI | building the summary |
| Your license key | our server | checking the subscription and usage |
Our providers process this data to return a result and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their models.
What we store
On your computer: the transcript, screenshots and settings of the current recording, so that an accidentally closed tab does not lose your work. This data stays in the browser and can be removed at any time by clearing the extension's storage or uninstalling it.
On our server: your license key, its plan, and counters of how much you used this month — minutes transcribed and requests made. Counters are deleted automatically after 40 days.
We do not store your audio, your screenshots, your files, your transcripts or your summaries. They pass through the service and are not written to disk.
What we never do
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone beyond the providers listed above.
- We do not use your recordings for advertising or profiling.
- We do not record without an explicit press of Start.
- We do not take screenshots on our own.
- We do not read tabs other than the one you are recording.
Finished summaries
The .md and .html files are saved by your browser
to your Downloads folder. They belong to you. We have no access to them and
no copy of them.
